Project Location: Raleigh, NC

Completion Date:  August 2017

Project Size: 25,127 square feet

About

Inspired by patchwork style quilting patterns that are represented within the museum’s collection, the design was conceived as a collection of galleries stitched together through spatial connections. After concluding preliminary site evaluation and feasibility studies of potential sites, Perkins+Will was commissioned to perform full architectural design services to renovate and expand an NC State historic Chancellor’s Residence and add a contemporary standalone addition. This new addition will provide exhibit galleries and exhibit support spaces. Together, the new addition to the Gregg and the renovated Chancellor’s Residence provide a major new gateway to the NC State campus, and a cultural bridge between the University and the greater arts community.
